Should I replace one spring or both?

On a two-spring door we usually recommend replacing both at once. They wear at the same rate, so if one has failed the other is likely close behind, and replacing the pair keeps the door balanced and saves a second service call.

How long do garage door springs last?

Most springs are rated for around 10,000 cycles, which is roughly 7 to 12 years of normal use. Doors that open many times a day wear through that life faster, which is why we offer higher cycle-rated springs when it makes sense.

What is the difference between torsion and extension springs?

Torsion springs sit on a shaft above the door and twist to lift it, while extension springs run along the tracks and stretch. Torsion systems are more common and generally last longer. We service and replace both.

Is it safe to replace a garage door spring myself?

We strongly advise against it. Springs hold enormous tension and can cause severe injury if they release suddenly. It is far safer, and usually faster, to have a trained technician handle the replacement.
